BVG Servers Down . . . Now, For How Long?

By TronFAQ on Wednesday, March 08, 2006 at 12:39 AM
The BVG (Buena Vista Games) TRON 2.0 Multiplayer servers have been down for at least 48 hours, at the time of this writing. So the question is, are they gone for good now?

I've heard stories that BVG have taken down the servers before, because they cannibalize the computer equipment when they go to trade shows, and the like. (And the 2006 Game Developers' Conference is almost upon us.) Or maybe they're doing maintenance. We'll see.

If the servers aren't back after a couple of weeks, I think that will be quite telling.

Well, the BVG servers only got bad lately. Before that, the pings were good even for me. But a few weeks ago, the pings started to get worse and worse. It's like they reduced the throughput or changed to another provider, to save money.

But now they're probably gone for good. And I do mind that they're gone, because it's further evidence that BVG has abandoned their customers. So think twice before you buy another BVG game in the future, folks.
